The Sanctuary Course is an eight-week small-group session designed to help churches and communities of faith engage in informed, compassionate conversations about mental health. Created in collaboration with mental health professionals, church leaders, theologians, and individuals with lived experience, the course equips participants to reduce stigma, increase understanding, and foster supportive, welcoming environments.

Each session explores a key mental health topic—such as stigma, recovery, companionship, and self-care—through guided discussion and accompanying films. The course requires no prior mental health training and is accessible to anyone interested in integrating faith and mental health awareness. By encouraging empathy, education, and meaningful dialogue, The Sanctuary Course helps churches become true sanctuaries where individuals living with mental health challenges feel safe, supported, and a sense of belonging.

We are starting this Monday, January 26th and will be concluded by March 20th.

Each evening session lasts approximately 2 hours. There is a workbook in pdf format and each week you will receive the relevant section in your email. There is no cost to you.
