Worship & Music Leader
Part-Time, 12-15 hours/week, $25-$28/hr
Reports to Lead Pastor
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate, musically gifted, and spiritually grounded Worship & Music Leader to shape and lead the worship life of Paris Community Church. This person will lead contemporary, band-driven worship on Sundays, build and mentor a growing team of volunteers, and help us encounter God through creative, Spirit-led worship both in-person and online. This role is essential in helping us fulfill our mission:

Key Responsibilities
Sunday Gatherings
- Lead and plan (in partnership with the Lead Pastor) engaging, Christ-centered worship each Sunday with a contemporary, guitar-driven sound
- Select songs and create setlists through Planning Centre that align with the teaching theme and spiritual tone of each service
- Organize and lead weekly rehearsals with the worship band and vocalists
- Collaborate with tech team to ensure high-quality sound, visuals, and pre-recorded online service
- Provide lyrics and service details to tech crew in a timely manner and schedule musicians and tech team each week (Planning Centre)
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, develop, and mentor musicians, vocalists, and worship leaders
- Foster a culture of spiritual growth, musical excellence, and team unity
- Encourage team participation and create opportunities for others to lead
- Provide care and encouragement to volunteers (musicians, vocalists, tech team)
Creative & Technical Ministry
- Work with pastor and creative team to plan meaningful and innovative worship experiences
- Support the development of online worship (e.g., music recordings)
- Build and maintain a song bank for use in services and online
- Use technology confidently (e.g., Planning Center, CCLI, ProPresenter, Ableton, etc.)
Administration & Oversight
- Steward the worship ministry budget in collaboration with the Lead Pastor
- Ensure music licensing (CCLI) and required equipment are up-to-date and maintained
- Attend staff meetings and participate in #forparis events and church-wide gatherings
Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Strong vocal and instrumental ability (preferably guitar-driven)
- Experience leading contemporary worship with a full band
- A heart for building community and developing others
- Familiarity with worship tech and online production
- Organizational and communication skills
- A commitment to the life of the local church and the community of Paris, Ontario
